Hazelwood Cottage provides self-contained accommodation for couples, families, groups as well as people with low and high-care needs. It is surrounded by large English trees. Balconies overlook the garden, which is kept green through summer due to an abundant water supply. There are beautiful Yarra Valley views. Friendly farm animals graze the property, one-third of which is native forest containing fern gullies, bush walks, abundant bird life and spring-fed dams. The property backs onto the National Park with access to beautiful walks. The house has five downstairs bedrooms containing two double beds, one bunk and five single beds. One attic bedroom contains a double bed and another three singles. Two cots and two highchairs are provided. Some beds have electric blankets; all have doonas, blankets and pillows. Linen is available for an extra charge. The lounge/dining area is spacious and heated by both gas and wood heaters. It contains books, board games, DVD player and a pianola. A large wired-in recreation room containing a table tennis table, toys and cane furniture makes an excellent play, meeting and outdoor eating area. Hazelwood Cottage is equipped and designed to provide holiday accommodation for all but in particular people with disabilities. It provides some aids, including a hoist. Two of its four bathrooms and the kitchen are purpose built. There are three adjustable beds. The scenic township of Warburton set on the Yarra River is seven kilometres away. It has a good selection of shops and restaurants, an Eco Display and information centre, tennis courts, swimming pool, superb golf course and a medical clinic with 24-hour phone contact available. Within the town and further a field are beautiful walks and day trips to such places as Donna Buang, Upper Yarra Dam, Healesville Sanctuary, the Dandenongs and Puffing Billy, Marysville, Lake Mountain and the many Yarra Valley wineries.
